Welcome to Taylor Exemplar Academy

Situated in the west-central part of the city of Detroit, Taylor Exemplar Academy is due east of the Wayne County Metropolitan Airport. Opening in the fall of 2006, Taylor Exemplar now enrolls students in grades kindergarten through 6. This follows the NHA school roadmap of adding a grade every year though the 8th grade.

The day begins with a Morning Assembly for all grades where they begin by reciting the Pledge of Allegiance followed by students reciting the Taylor Exemplar Student Creed. Each week a different grade is in charge of hosting the assembly.

The vision of Taylor Exemplar Academy is to teach all students how to read well as a key to opening the doors to all core curricular areas. In partnership with parents and the community, Taylor Exemplar offers a challenging, character-based education, aligned with Michigan Core Curriculum Content Standards. Taylor Exemplar creates an atmosphere of high academic expectations to prepare students for higher education and life-long learning.
