Welcome to Taylor Exemplar Academy

Situated in Taylor, Michigan (a suburb of Detroit), Taylor Exemplar Academy is east of the Wayne County Metropolitan Airport with easy access to freeways I-94 and I-75. Taylor Exemplar Academy opened in the fall of 2006 as a K-5 elementary school and has added a grade each year. Beginning with the '09-'10 school year, Taylor Exemplar will be offering K-8 and is currently accepting applications for students in those grades.

The day begins with a morning assembly for all grades where they begin by reciting the Pledge of Allegiance followed by students reciting the Taylor Exemplar Student Creed. Each week a different grade is in charge of hosting the assembly.

The vision of Detroit's Taylor Exemplar Academy is to teach all students how to read well as a key to opening the doors to all core curricular areas. In partnership with parents and the community, Taylor Exemplar Academy offers a challenging, character-based elementary and middle school education, aligned with Michigan Core Curriculum Content Standards. Taylor Exemplar Academy creates an atmosphere of high academic expectations to prepare students for higher education and life-long learning.
